
Since the clef is a percussion clef and one designates a given midi note as the the pitch uniquely associated with that instrument, I attempted to follow Finale's Percussion Layout by pressing 62 as the pitch for a Bass Drum, but nothing happens when I strike that pitch on the keyboard. Please see picture, below, of what I'm attempting to do. My understanding, so far, is that one one determines which note on the staff is associated with a given instrument by establishing a midi note to that particular instrument, hoping that that instrument is in Finale's list.
